Ann McCaig, Director

McCaigM. Ann McCaig, C.M., A.O.E., LL.D.

Ann McCaig is one of Canada's most prominent volunteers and advocates for youth, education and health.  She is Chancellor Emeritus at the University of Calgary having served as Chancellor from 1994 to 1998.  Prior to serving as Chancellor, she was a member of the University's Board of Governors for 10 years.

Mrs. McCaig is a Trustee of the $400 million Killam Estate, a Director of the Gairdner Foundation, the Chair of the Calgary Health Trust and the Chair of the Alberta Adolescent Recovery Centre, as well as the Honourary Chair of the Alberta Bone and Joint Institute.  She is a Director of the Calgary Stampede Foundation and serves on the Board of Suncor Energy.  Mrs. McCaig has received numerous awards including an Honourary Doctor of Laws Degree from the University of Calgary and the University of Alberta, the University of Saskatchewan Alumni Humanitarian Award, the Queen Elizabeth Award, the 125th Confederation of Canada Award and the Alberta Order of Excellence.  She is also a Member of the Order of Canada.
