Michael Tyers, Ph.D.

Dr. Tyers received his Ph.D. in 1989 from McMaster University and he was a postdoctoral fellow at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. He has received the National Cancer Institute of Canada's William E. Rawls Prize, sponsored by Eli Lilly; the Premier's Research Excellence Award; the Merck-Frosst Award; the Michael Smith Award;the Lloyd S.D. Fogler Q.C. Award for Research Excellence, and the McLaughlin Medal. He has been named a Canada Research Chair in Bioinformatics and Functional Genomics, and in 2002 he was elected a fellow of the Royal Society of Canada.
