Dr. Walter Neupert obtained his Ph.D. in Biochemistry in 1968 and his M.D. in 1970, from the University of Munich. In 1977 he moved to the University of Göttingen until 1983 when he returned to the University of Munich as a Professor of Biochemistry and Cell Biology. Professor Neupert has been a member of the editorial board of numerous journals including Cell, Europeon Molecular Biology Organization Journal, and the Journal of Biological Chemistry. Professor Neupert received the Academia Europaea, the Heinrich-Wieland Prize in 1993 and the Feldberg Foundation Prize in 1996. He is Chairman of the EMBO Council.
