Celia Du

As Program Coordinator, Celia supports and leads numerous events, galas and awards programs, including Gairdner Week events and the annual National outreach program. She is a science communication specialist with extensive experience engaging various audiences with science.
She has worked with the Canadian Space Agency, the Royal Canadian Institute for Science, Science Rendezvous, and the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada and has been interviewed by Discovery UK, Global News, The Canadian Press, and CTV News. With a background in Chemistry from McGill University and a Master’s in Science Communication and Public Engagement from the University of Edinburgh, she is dedicated to improving science communication practices to better bridge science and the public, particularly for underrepresented communities.
Celia has led workshops and trained budding science communicators through Laurentian University, the University of Toronto, the Canadian Science Policy Conference and Lotus STEMM.
