Dr. Gregory D. Fairn is a Professor in the Department of Pathology at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He holds a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Multiomics of Lipids and Innate Immunity.
Dr. Fairn earned his Ph.D. at Dalhousie University, focusing on yeast genetics, vesicular transport, and lipid metabolism. He completed postdoctoral studies at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, where he expanded his research into innate immunity and host-pathogen interactions. His research interests include the cellular basis of innate immunity, lipidomics, proteomics, and the role of lipid metabolism in diseases such as Crohn's and fatty liver disease. Dr. Fairn's work has been recognized with several awards, including the 2017 Walter A. Shaw Young Investigator Award in Lipid Research.
