The Gairdner Alberta Partnered AI + Health Research Symposium 2026 brings together researchers, scholars, clinicians, trainees, students, patients, policymakers and industry leaders for 1.5 days of interactive sessions, keynotes, workshops, poster presentations and networking across health fields.

The symposium aims to foster communities of practice, contribute to building trusting relationships between AI health researchers and the public, advance knowledge and discourse on responsible and ethical AI health research and generate networks of collaboration across multiple domains of interest related to AI and health.

In partnership with the Gairdner Foundation, the AI + Health Research Symposium will recognize excellence in global health research and serve as a leader for interdisciplinary collaboration through the acceleration of meaningful and responsible innovation in AI health research.

The symposium will highlight 3 key streams in AI and health research:

  • AI + Biomedical Research

  • AI + Translational Science

  • AI, Healthcare, + Clinical Practice
